The words below belong to people I've worked with over many years, across different industries, roles and stages of life.
They came to me for different reasons.
Some were facing important decisions. Some felt stuck. Some were overwhelmed by competing demands. Some were navigating change, questioning their direction or trying to make sense of something they couldn't yet clearly articulate.
What interests me, looking back at their words now, is how often people describe the value of having space to think, being helped to notice something they hadn't seen before, finding their own answers and leaving with greater clarity about what happens next.
Because thinking together isn't the end of the process.
People leave our conversations with something.
Sometimes it's an action or a decision. Sometimes it's a different perspective, a new question, an experiment to try, or a clearer understanding of themselves. Sometimes something shifts in how they want to be, think or participate in a situation.
What happens next will be different for every person.
Today, I call this work a thinking partnership.
Here are some of the people who have helped me understand what that means.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for my experience of coaching with Clare. I think, like many others, I was unsure about what coaching meant, perhaps even sceptical about what it could really do for me. But this journey ended up being more life changing for me than I could have ever imagined. Every single session with Clare enabled me to find the answer to so many questions that had been bothering me and find solutions to so many problems I had deemed unsolvable.
This experience made me realise that a little bit of magic happens when you can stop for a minute, talk openly about the challenges you face and find the solutions that were right there within you, but just out of reach because of the fog of everyday life and stress.
Thanks to coaching I feel truly empowered – like I’ve regained agency and control over my life, over how I show up to situations and how I react to the inevitable challenges that life will throw at me. I have an arsenal of tools I can reach for when I need to, and I’m moving forward, feeling positive about the future.
Clare approaches our sessions with a kindness, gentleness and humour that made me feel completely safe to share my anxieties and allowed me to be really honest. I can’t thank her enough for this experience and I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Clare asked a lot of discovery questions that brought me to my own conclusions and gave me a sense of ownership over my own trajectory.”

“I came to the session with a messy, undefined problem. Clare was very calm, receptive, and intentional in how she led me to different perspectives that could help me get unstuck. I feel more empowered and less passive in the relationship I was seeking clarity on now thanks to her.”

“Before Clare and I started working together, my work life – although ostensibly quite a good job – felt hopeless and uninspiring. My personal goals were vague ideas bounded by feelings of frustration – I knew I wasn’t happy but I was trying to nail the proverbial jelly to the wall in trying to figure out why. Unfortunately, all of this was infecting my personal relationships, where my partner had to an extent become a scapegoat for my general malaise.
I had never worked with a coach before because I am very much of the ‘pull yourself together’ school of thought. I am pretty well organized and a highly motivated person so I had always considered coaching to be something that other people may require. But, ultimately I felt consistently miserable and I had to acknowledge that a change in trajectory was required and I decided I had nothing to lose by trying.
Clare strikes the elusive balance between warmth, sensitivity and empathy, alongside a practical no-nonsense approach. There is nothing floaty or flowery in working with her. She is rooted in pragmatism, which is applicable in an everyday setting, but she is also skilled enough to tie that through to the bigger underlying themes where they are driving things from behind the scenes.”

“Clare has been amazing at helping me make sense and order out of the hundreds of ideas in my head and challenging them with questions to help me see them from a different perspective. She always brings great energy to our sessions and her calmness helps me feel safe and at ease. Can really recommend working with Clare!”

“Clare helped me to reflect more deeply on some of the issues and challenges I brought to the session as well as bring out some of the connections I had not previously seen so I could see better how to I could forge a path to move forward. She offered a very nurturing space for freely thinking around new possibilities in some creative ways which was greatly welcomed.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Clare for 6+ months and I really enjoyed our sessions. Clare provided a space away from the noise of everyday life where I got to focus on what was important to me. She asked great questions, and she acted as my thinking partner and sounding board.
It was easy to form a good connection with Clare – enabling an open and honest dialogue. Clare offers her clients professionalism and experience, and I am aware that she has also helped a range of people, including sportsmen and women, those going back to work and those struggling with busy overwhelming lives.
Thank you Clare for your support, advice and coaching.”

“One outcome of the coaching is unearthing your own solutions yourself by answering guiding questions and that's exactly what happened here. My thoughts are a lot clearer now and I have a plan for the next few months. Even if you're unsure on what you want out of a session, I'd highly recommend doing one and just start talking.”

“Clare gave a great balance of coaching me to extend my thinking whilst also giving top level advice when I needed / asked for it. I feel a lot better about the situation we discussed and like that I have an actionable plan. Thank you!”

“My life before we started working together was very busy and unbalanced. I wasn’t unhappy but I could feel that if I carried on that way it wasn’t the type of life balance that I wanted, especially with 2 kids. I have realised that during the last few years that I wanted to be more available for them and my partner. I also wanted to try for a 3rd baby and at 39 years of age I felt a pressure that time was running out. I was looking for more quality time without constantly thinking about work when I’m with my family. Also, I wanted to give more time to my friends and do more things for myself!
I realised that I was trapped by the responsibilities of having a business, too much pressure to deal with in every aspect of the business, managing a team, making sure we could always pay the bills etc… And looking at the money I was taking home it wasn’t worth it… I realised I wasn’t where I wanted to be with the business either.
I had so many things in my mind and I didn’t know where to start and what was right for me, I had so many questions to answer.
Would leaving the business and starting another as sole self-employed be the right way?
If it was the right direction, how and when would I leave the business? How would my relations be with my business partner once I told her?
What would be my plan for the future and how I put everything in place?
I couldn’t sleep very well (which is rare for me), I spoke to my best friend and my partner about it, they all agreed I needed some changes. However as it was such a big decision for me to leave my business I decided to get some help and look for a coach.
After the free consultation with Clare where she took the time to understand my situation, I knew that I wanted to go ahead with coaching and that we would work well together.
Clare has a gentle approach; she has no judgement and has been brilliant at helping me to decode my mind so that I could put the challenges I faced in the right order. She gave me the strength I needed to start making some changes, which for me at the beginning looked really impossible…and so complex, but it wasn’t.
I have had a great experience working with Clare and I would like to recommend her to anyone who feels that they are in a similar boat to me. You won’t regret it!”

“I highly recommend Clare. Her approach is spacious, intuitive, and kind. She is a great listener and picked up on things that I wasn't aware of which has helped me on my journey. We can't change what we aren't aware of, right?
I found it really helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off. She had insight into Industry that I didn't have. Also great to have someone that isn't within my family or friends to talk through things I am stuck on, receiving fresh insight. Don't hesitate, she is an angel!”
